The Innokin Prism S is the coil that keeps the Endura T20-S, EZ Watt and Apex running properly, and it's a regular reorder for a lot of our customers here at Pure E-Liquids. If your flavour has started to fade or you're getting the odd gurgle from your tank, a fresh coil is usually the fix, and buying five at a time saves you coming back to us every fortnight.

Three resistances are available in this pack, each suited to a slightly different vaping style. The 1.5 ohm gives the tightest, most restricted draw and is the closest thing to a cigarette-style pull. The 0.8 ohm opens things up a little for warmer vapour and fuller flavour. The 0.9 ohm uses a mesh coil rather than traditional wound wire, which tends to bring out more flavour from your e-liquid thanks to faster, more even heating.

Key Features

  • Genuine Innokin Prism S coils, 5 per box
  • Available in 0.8Ω (16-18W), 0.9Ω Mesh (14.5-18W) and 1.5Ω (13-14W)
  • Kanthal A1 wound coil with organic cotton wicking on the 0.8Ω and 1.5Ω versions
  • Mesh coil construction on the 0.9Ω version for faster heat-up and stronger flavour
  • Standard 510 connector, no-spill coil swap tank system
  • Built for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping
  • Works best with 50/50 or high PG e-liquid

Full Specifications

Brand: Innokin. Range: Prism S. Pack contents: 5 coils. Wire type: Kanthal A1 (0.8Ω, 1.5Ω) or mesh (0.9Ω). Wicking material: organic cotton. Fitting: 510 pin connector. Vaping style: MTL only. Recommended e-liquid: 50/50 or high PG. Made in China.

Wattage by resistance: 0.8Ω = 16-18W, 0.9Ω Mesh = 14.5-18W, 1.5Ω = 13-14W.

Dimensions and Weight

Each individual coil is approximately 3.3cm tall (1.3 inches) and 1.3cm in diameter (0.5 inches). A box of 5 coils weighs around 11g in total, which is 0.011kg, or approximately 0.024lbs. Dimensions and weight are the same across all three resistances.

What's in the Box

  • 5 x Innokin Prism S Coils, in the resistance you select
  • Coils only, no tank, drip tip or device included

Coil and Compatibility Guide

The Prism S coil is a direct fit for Innokin's own T20 Prism tank, which is what comes fitted to the Endura T20-S and EZ Watt kits, as well as the Innokin Apex kit and its dedicated Apex tank. If you're running an Apex, note that the 1.5 ohm variant isn't compatible with that particular tank, so stick to the 0.8 ohm or 0.9 ohm mesh for that device.

Swapping a coil is straightforward. Unscrew the base of the tank (ideally with a little e-liquid still in there to avoid drips), remove the spent coil, and press the replacement into place with the 510 pin down. Screw the base back on, top up the tank, and give it 5 to 10 minutes before vaping so the cotton fully soaks through. Skipping this step is the number one reason a brand new coil tastes burnt within seconds.

Recommended E-Liquids

This coil is built for high PG and 50/50 juice rather than sub-ohm shortfills, so it's a good match for our nic salt e-liquid range, which is formulated with MTL devices exactly like this in mind. If you'd rather stick with freebase nicotine, our wider Innokin coils selection will give you an idea of the resistance ranges and juice pairings that work well with restricted-draw tanks like this one.

Usage and Maintenance Advice

Always prime a new coil before use. A couple of drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton, followed by filling the tank and leaving it to stand, gives the wick time to saturate properly. Never fire the coil dry, even briefly, since this can scorch the cotton on the first puff and ruin the coil before you've had a chance to use it. Depending on usage and juice choice, most vapers get somewhere between 3 and 10 days from each coil. Sweeter e-liquids tend to gunk the wicking faster and shorten that lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 0.8, 0.9 and 1.5 ohm Prism S coils?
The 1.5 ohm gives the tightest, most restricted MTL draw at the lowest wattage. The 0.8 ohm runs a little warmer with fuller flavour. The 0.9 ohm uses a mesh element instead of wound wire, which generally brings out the most flavour of the three.

Will the Prism S coil fit my older Innokin T18 tank?
No. Innokin has run several similar-looking coil platforms over the years, and the Prism S is a specific fit for the T20-S, EZ Watt and Apex tank bases, not the older T18 or T18E system.

Which resistance works in the Innokin Apex?
The Apex tank takes the 0.8 ohm and 0.9 ohm mesh coils only. The 1.5 ohm is designed for the Endura T20-S and EZ Watt.

How often will I need to replace this coil?
Typically every 3 to 10 days, depending on how much you vape and the sweetness of your e-liquid. Sugary or dessert-style flavours tend to shorten coil life.

My new coil tastes burnt straight away, what's wrong?
This is almost always a priming issue. Fill the tank fully and leave it to stand for several minutes before vaping to let the cotton wick soak through properly.

Can I use nic salts with this coil?
Nic salts are usually designed around lower-power pod systems, whereas the Prism S runs between 13W and 18W. A 50/50 or high PG freebase e-liquid at a comparable nicotine strength tends to give better results in this coil.

Is this coil suitable for shortfill or high VG e-liquid?
No, this is an MTL coil built for thinner, high PG e-liquid. High VG shortfills are too thick for the wicking and are likely to cause dry hits.

How do I know when the coil needs changing?
Watch for a burnt or muted taste, a gurgling noise, reduced vapour production or visible darkening near the airflow. Any of these signs mean it's time for a fresh coil.

Is the Prism S coil TPD registered?
Yes, all three resistances are notified with the MHRA under UK TPD requirements. We'd recommend checking the MHRA public register directly for the most current compliance status.

Do I need a new tank if my coil burns out?
Usually not. A burnt coil rarely damages the tank itself, so replacing just the coil is normally all that's needed, as long as the tank glass and seals are still intact.

What's the best way to store spare coils?
Keep them in their original box, somewhere dry and away from direct sunlight, until you're ready to use them. This helps protect the cotton wicking from drying out prematurely.

Can I use this coil in a different brand of tank?
No, the Prism S coil is a proprietary fit designed specifically for Innokin's Prism S tank base and won't thread into tanks from other manufacturers.
