Aspire Gotek X Review

Posted by Pure E-Liquids on 20th Jun 2025

Moving on from disposables is going to be a challenge for hundreds of thousands of UK vapers. For years, it has served as a suitable entry device into vaping from smoking. Now, an alternative is needed, and many will see pod kits as the natural successor. If you are after a reliable and user-friendly kit with a cool design and refillable pods, look no further than the Aspire Gotek X.

This classic device is a fine mixture of substance and style. There are a couple of fantastic features that allow the Gotek X to stand out and we will compare this device with the equally popular devices from the Gotek range, the Aspire Gotek Pro and the Aspire Gotek Nano. Ultimately, we will highlight whether this classic vape kit is the right pick for your collection.

Is the Aspire Gotek X a Unique Vape Pod?

What makes the Aspire Gotek X stand out is the unique design with a transparent futuristic look and the practical design. Because you can see all of the components including the battery, pod and chipset, it is intriguing to see how the vape operates and importantly notice when your e-liquid levels are low and you need to refill with a high PG freebase e-liquid, high VG vape juice or your favourite nic salts vape liquid.

Another big bonus with the Gotek X is the position of the airflow. Unlike most pod kits which feature the airflow toggle, switch or sliding mechanism at the top of the pod or side of the device, the Gotek X adjustable airflow switch is located at the bottom. This means you can effortlessly alternate between different airflows by fine-tuning and not needing to stop in your tracks.

In terms of moving away from disposables towards a more sustainable future for the industry, our planet and customers, a very useful option in the Gotek X presents itself, and its popularity continues to increase.

How Does the Aspire Gotek X Vape?

The Aspire Gotek X and the replaceable and refillable Aspire Gotek Pods vapes with a high level of consistency so customers will always know what to expect with this device. A lot of vapers who previously vaped disposables hope for a similar pod kit that can be easy to manage and maintain, puffing as frequently as needed without major knowledge of vaping advanced features.

Even with Aspire regularly bringing out new devices to answer key questions about what makes a good vape, the Gotek X is one of the best by far they have produced. The best aspects of the Gotek X which creates a solid vape experience include:

  1. Excellent battery life that delivers a steady output of power.
  2. A drip tip that does not spit back vape juice.
  3. Long-lasting pods with fixed mesh coils, creating great flavour and no effort needed to switch coils manually. Just vape the pod until the life dies out and swap it for a fresh one.
  4. Great value at under £10 with a 0.8 Ohm pod in the kit.
  5. Easy filling of e-liquid when the pod is empty.
  6. Durable construction with a smooth plastic finish to provide a comfortable grip.
  7. Compact shape and dimensions.
  8. Smoother vapour than vape mods or disposables.
  9. The flavour was fantastic – rich and satisfying vapour that tasted very similar to the e-liquid we used when testing (Vsavi Platinum Cherry 6mg this time). Not too thick or harsh on the throat.
  10. Full charge in less than one hour.

What we are also excited about is the announcement that Aspire will soon be releasing Aspire Gotek prefilled e-liquids. Because prefilled pods offer the closest experience for disposable vape purchases before 1 June 2025, the race is on from the top manufacturers such as IVG, Vuse, Vsavi and many more to establish a key position in the market.

By adding prefilled pods to the highly-sought-after Aspire Gotek range, this creates better convenience and versatile options for the best vape in 2025.

Design And Functionality Explained

A key reason why the Aspire Gotek X is so popular is the design. They have some of the longest pods we have seen which slot into place effortlessly and add to the appeal of the device as a visual spectacle. With the transparent various colour schemes, you have a clear vape that stands out in a crowd or among peers. As the standard 2ml pods on the Gotek offer roughly 600 puffs per accessory, that should be enough for at least a few days of vaping, but this depends on the frequency of use. Functionally, the device is very straightforward to vape with no complicated menus to adjust various settings such as temperature control.

How Does it Compare to the Popular Gotek Pro and Gotek Nano?

The key difference between the popular three devices is the battery size. Released first, the legendary Aspire Gotek X has a battery capacity of 650mAh. While generous, there is more in store with the Gotek Nano and the Gotek Pro. The Aspire Gotek Nano is as you can expect – a tiny compact device for vaping on the move.

With a 1000mAh, it it surprisingly bigger in capacity than the Gotek X. As a further upgrade you can opt for the Aspire Gotek Pro, which boasts a whopping 1500mAh battery for a vape kit similar in dimensions to the Aspire Gotek X.

Comparing the three in appearance, the Aspire Gotek X is more lightweight and made from plastic materials while the higher battery capacity Gotek Pro has a metallic look, so naturally weighs more. All three devices have clear pod windows to see your e-liquid levels and an adjustable airflow switch located on the bottom of the kits for an easily adjustable vape.

In terms of airflow, the Gotek Pro seems to be more refined than the Gotek X, but is available at a higher price point. The Gotek Pro and Gotek X have LED battery inidicators while the Nano offers a neat screen display notifying of battery percentage remaining.

All three are side fill and draw activated, offer faster heating and reduced dry hits with Gotek pods and mesh coils that cater to mouth-to-lung and restrictive direct lung vaping. Importantly, all coils are preinstalled with the pod and non-replaceable, meaning you need to get a Gotek pod to freshen up the coil flavour.

Dimensions Comparison

As you can see below, there is not a huge difference in weight between the Gotek X and the Gotek Nano, with the Gotek X slightly wider than the Gotek Nano by six millimetres. In contrast, due to the additional battery power and wattage output, the Gotek Pro weighs 30g more and yet still not too bulky at 84g, standing at roughly the same height and same width as the Gotek X.

Gotek X

  • 81.5 mm x 47.6 mm x 19.8 mm
  • Weight: 54g

Gotek Nano

  • 80.5mm x 41mm x 20 mm
  • Weight: 58g

Gotek Pro

  • 81mm x 46mm x 21mm
  • Weight: 84g

Any Disadvantages From The Aspire Gotek X?

  • The refill mechanism can be a little bit fiddly to begin with.
  • Although the Gotek X battery is a decent capacity of 650mAh and Aspire state it should last two days, this depends on use, as it feels with regular puffs like it may not stretch to that period of longevity as often.
  • For some, the deal breaker may be that the Gotek X is with fixed coils, so once the pod is out of steam, you must buy a new pod. However, this is an easier experience for maintenance and flavour retention.

Verdict

What we know after reviewing and comparing the three devices with a focus on the Gotek X is that all three as stand-alone devices are perfect for any stage of the vape journey. While it does not offer huge clouds of vapour like a Sub-Ohm kit does, Aspire provides three more than capable devices in the Gotek range that work well for MTL and RDL style vaping.

Each device is pocket size and highlights their skill to create kits that are perfect for new vapers. The Gotek X remains a popular highly-searched-for vape kit because it is reliable, consistent in flavour and easy to use. It looks stylish but the battery life of 650mAh may not be enough depending on use.

If you seek a device that can go all day with one charge before leaving the house, the Gotek Pro is your best option. Prefer a compact vape with a little less battery? The Gotek Nano hits the right notes when vaping. For a lighter feel and equally impressive vapour generation, we understand why so many love the Gotek X as a go-to for frequent or infrequent MTL vaping during a busy day.
