The Caliburn G Pod Platform has been Uwell's most-used pod system for a few years now, and the GPP Alpha is the pod Uwell built to answer the two complaints that come up most with any refillable mesh pod: flavour that starts strong and fades fast, and pods that need replacing sooner than you'd like. It's a straight upgrade over the original GPP and G3 pod, using the same click-fit and the same range of resistances, so switching to it doesn't mean changing anything about how you vape.
Available here in 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm, each at the UK-legal 2ml fill, packed four to a box.
What's Actually Different About The Alpha Version
Uwell calls the coil inside these pods AlphaCore. In practical terms, that means a mesh coil built to hold its flavour clarity over more refills before it needs swapping out, paired with a softer TPU mouthpiece that's more comfortable through a full day of vaping than the harder tip on older Caliburn pods. The pod shell has also been tightened up to cut down on the sweating and seepage that side-fill pods can be prone to over time.
Fill, prime and fit it exactly as you would any other Caliburn pod. Nothing about the process has changed, only the parts underneath.
Features
- AlphaCore mesh coil for longer flavour life - Built to keep tasting fresh for more refills than a standard GPP pod, so you're not replacing pods the moment the flavour starts to dip.
- One-piece pod and coil - There's no separate coil to fit or remove. Once a pod's finished, the entire pod gets replaced, keeping maintenance simple.
- Four resistances, two vaping styles - 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm suit a looser, warmer restricted-lung draw with more vapour. 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm suit a tighter mouth-to-lung draw closer to smoking.
- Soft-touch TPU mouthpiece - More comfortable against the lips for repeat use than earlier Caliburn pod mouthpieces.
- 2ml TPD-compliant capacity - Every resistance sold here holds the UK-legal 2ml maximum.
- Built for the Caliburn GPP platform - Designed to click into Uwell's current-generation Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 series devices.

Prefer the standard GPP pod or the older G3 pod? Both are still in stock: Uwell Caliburn GPP Replacement Pods and Uwell Caliburn G3 Replacement Pods.
Which Resistance Should You Choose?
- 0.4ohm Caliburn GPP Alpha - Recommended wattage: up to 35W. A looser, warmer RDL draw with increased vapour production, the most vapour of the four. Suits lower-strength 50/50 or higher-VG e-liquid.
- 0.6ohm Caliburn GPP Alpha - Recommended wattage: up to 25W. Sits between the two styles, giving balanced flavour and vapour. Good for vapers who want a bit more vapour than a tight MTL pull without losing flavour intensity.
- 0.9ohm Caliburn GPP Alpha - Recommended wattage: up to 15W. MTL vaping with a tighter draw, the closest of the four to a typical smoking inhale. Works well with nic salts or standard 50/50 e-liquid.
- 1.2ohm Caliburn GPP Alpha - Recommended wattage: up to 13W. Smooth MTL vaping with efficient battery use, best for vapers who want maximum flavour and nicotine delivery per puff. Pair with 10mg or 20mg nic salts.
If you're weighing up which one to order and you mainly vape nic salts, go for 0.9ohm or 1.2ohm.
Best E-Liquids For Uwell Caliburn GPP Alpha Pods
Mesh coils like the one in this pod wick best with thinner e-liquid. Very high-VG juice isn't recommended, particularly in the 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm pods, since it can wick too slowly and shorten how long the pod lasts.
Our nic salts range covers exactly the kind of e-liquid these pods are built for, from Ske Crystal and Hayati through to Vampire Vape and our own Vsavi nic salts, and is worth a browse if you're pairing with the 0.9ohm or 1.2ohm pods.
For the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods, a lower-strength 50/50 e-liquid will give you a warmer, more vapour-forward vape without overloading the coil.
How To Fill And Prime Your GPP Alpha Pod
- Take the pod out of your device.
- Snap off the mouthpiece to reveal the fill port.
- Fill slowly, staying below the max fill line printed on the pod.
- Push the mouthpiece firmly back into place until it clicks.
- Let the pod sit for 5 to 10 minutes before your first vape, so the coil has time to saturate fully.
- Click the pod back into your device and vape as normal.
Most burnt or muted first puffs come down to skipping this wait time on a new pod, so it's worth building into your routine.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the GPP Alpha pod and the standard GPP pod?
The Alpha version uses an upgraded AlphaCore mesh coil for a longer working life and steadier flavour, along with a softer TPU mouthpiece. Both fit the same range of devices.
Will these pods fit my Caliburn G4?
Yes. GPP Alpha pods are built for the wider Caliburn G Pod Platform, which covers G3, G4 and G5 series kits.
Are these pods good for nic salts?
Yes, particularly the 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm resistances, which are built for a tighter mouth-to-lung draw that suits nic salts well.
How long should one pod last me?
It varies with e-liquid choice, wattage and how often you vape, but the AlphaCore coil is designed to outlast a standard GPP pod before flavour starts to drop off.
Why does a brand new pod taste burnt?
Almost always down to not priming it first. Fill it, then leave it to stand for 5 to 10 minutes before your first puff so the coil is fully saturated.
Do I need to buy a separate coil for this pod?
No, the coil is built into the pod itself. When it's done, you replace the whole unit.
Is the 4ml XL GPP Alpha pod available?
Not from us. We only stock the 2ml UK version, since the 4ml XL exceeds the legal tank capacity limit for e-liquid products sold in the UK.
Which resistance gives the most vapour?
The 0.4ohm pod produces the most vapour of the four, followed by the 0.6ohm. Both suit a restricted-lung style rather than tight mouth-to-lung.
Can different e-liquid flavours be used in the same pod?
It's better to run a pod dry and give it a rinse before switching to a very different flavour, otherwise the old flavour can linger and affect the next few fills.
My pod is leaking from the mouthpiece. What's wrong?
Check the mouthpiece has clicked fully closed after filling and that you haven't filled past the max line. A properly seated pod that still leaks may be faulty.
Can I use freebase e-liquid in these pods?
Yes, lower-strength freebase works well, especially in the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods, which are built for a warmer, higher-vapour style of vaping.
Does this pod fit the Caliburn G3 Lite?
Yes, GPP Alpha pods are designed for the whole Caliburn GPP platform, which includes G3 Lite and other related G3 series variants.
How do I know when a pod needs replacing?
A drop in flavour that priming doesn't fix, a burnt or muted taste, or noticeably less vapour are all signs it's time for a fresh pod.
