Freemax Galex Nano Device

Discover the Freemax Galex Nano with this review of the galactic-themed pod vape kit, with an impressive array of features as well as a futuristic design! How does it perform for such a compact 800mAh device?

The vape industry is full of electrical innovation as top brands like Smok, Geekvape, Voopoo and Vaporesso keep finding new ways to attract smokers to vaping. It’s not just the nicotine intake that’s important, or the throat hit. The design and look of the vape kit are often the key factors when deciding which one to buy. Freemax may have created one of the frontrunners for the smartest-looking pod kits with the Freemax Galex Nano and the Freemax Galex duo. In this review, we will compare the two against other pod kits and discover how it operates. Is it style or performance that is more important?

Freemax Galex Nano vs Freemax Galex

At the same time, Freemax released two ‘galactic-themed’ pods that are out of this world - the Galex Nano and the Galex. While this review will focus predominantly on the smaller Freemax Galex Nano, it’s also important to differentiate it from the Galex. Both are devices aimed at mouth-to-lung vapers with 800mAh battery capacities and type-c charging.

There are a few key features that set them apart. With the Nano, you have a fire button and auto-draw option but the Galex is auto-draw only. They also each have stylish see-through panels that don’t just highlight the chipset inside but light up to create an impressive look that will be the envy of your vaping friends!

With the Galex, you need to plug in the pod kit to change the colours while the Nano colour scheme lights up to different colours after two presses of the fire button. The Galex is a thinner but longer pod kit and in contrast, the Nano is shorter and more compact, so these differences can often be the deciding factor which you want to purchase.

Let’s Discuss Freemax Galex Coils

Are the Freemax Galex coils as bold as described on the manufacturer's website, which explains that they are innovatively quenched SS904L mesh? First of all, let’s be clear - these are tailored to mouth-to-lung vapers. Intended to improve the coil lifespan, enjoy the pure flavour from the very first puff. While they do produce some of the best flavours from the vape industry, what’s also great with the Galex Nano kit is you can also use the popular Freemax GX mesh coils, which are eerily similar to the Vaporesso GTX coils in style.

How Do They Perform With The Kit?

There are two resistances to pick from with your MTL coils - either 0.8 Ohm or a tighter restriction of 1.0 Ohm. Both offer a long-lasting experience, which you can easily refill at least 10 times as promised by Freemax. They create good flavour which is expected from Freemax coils and a smooth vape thanks to the slightly curved yet comfortable pods. If you own both kits, the pods fit on both.

Freemax Galex Nano - How It Looks And Practicality

The nano is a stylish device that stands out because of the cool light-up display that highlights the funky chipset. Showing off this aspect of a vape kit is becoming a popular trend with pod vape kits, and none more so than the Freemax Galex Nano, so kudos to Freemax for the design. How the two Galex devices compare is the size of the devices. The Galex is nearly double the length at 12cm compared to 7cm with the Nano. But the Nano weighs 40g more and is slightly wider. Both are discreet and comfortable in the hand.

If you want to show off the light-up display when vaping right handed your hand will cover the chipset display so you have to hold it awkwardly in the left hand to highlight this feature. The Galex is a more basic pod kit but still does a good job too for mouth-to-lung vaping.

How To Use The Device

The Freemax Galex Nano is a simple pod system with even easier navigation and setup to begin vaping!

  1. Five clicks of the fire button allow you to turn the device on and off.
  2. Press the button three times between red (low), blue (medium) and green (high) to discover different power levels. Change to suit your preference.
  3. One click highlights your battery life remaining.
  4. To change the colourful panel scheme, press the fire button twice. There is a rainbow option, solid colours or another two presses to turn it off.
  5. To vape, simply auto-inhale on the mouthpiece. There is no fire button.

Any Disadvantages?

  • Not the longest-lasting pods from the Galex range, you get slightly more longevity from brands such as Uwell, Vaporesso and Innokin
  • The Nano is very compact, which is great for discreet vaping but more difficult to vape if you have bigger hands

Verdict

For beginners and experienced vapers seeking a simple throat hit, excellent flavour and a compact device, look no further than the Galex Nano. It looks the part with a futuristic design and produces a steady mouth-to-lung vape. There is not much to complain about from the device itself and the coils as we know from Freemax are fantastic for rich flavours with your chosen e-liquid. We couldn’t recommend this MTL kit highly enough!
