Vaporesso Luxe QS Review - A New Type of Pod Vape Kit?

Posted by Pure E-Liquids on 26th Jan 2023

Vaporesso has added another kit to their Luxe collection of pod kits with the stylish and colourful Vaporesso Luxe QS, which features a 1000mAh battery, anti-leak technology and reversible pods to create an MTL and RDL vape. Released quite soon after the Vaporesso Luxe X and Luxe XR duo, we look at the Luxe QS performance levels and design, to understand how it matches up and whether it’s the right vape for your pod kit preferences.

How Does the Vaporesso Luxe QS Compare With the Luxe X and XR?

Over the past year from Vaporesso we have also seen the Luxe Q and more recently the Luxe XR and the Luxe X. Each is a pod kit with different styles and battery sizes. For instance, the Luxe X and XR have 1500mAh battery sizes and galactic designs featuring see-through cases where you can see the chipset. The original Luxe Q, which preceded the Luxe QS also has a 1000mAh battery but is tailored more towards the 0.8 Ohm and 1.2 Ohm coil pods. In contrast, the new Luxe QS caters to even more resistances. The key difference is the Luxe Q and QS are MTL/RDL systems in comparison to the Luxe Q and QR. The latter two are predominantly aimed at Sub-Ohm vaping, so it boils down to personal vape style preference.

Key Features And Specifications

  • 1000mAh battery capacity
  • Adjustable airflow
  • Mesh coils
  • 2ml refillable leak-resistant pods
  • Variety of coil resistances
  • Reversible pods to alter the draw
  • Snap off top fill method
  • Magnetic connection
  • Type-c charger

Let’s Discuss the Vaporesso Luxe QS Pods

The Luxe QS pods are both familiar and new in equal fashion as you get two pods with the kit which is fantastic news and the option to add other resistance too. With the kit, Vaporesso has provided a loose MTL 0.6 Ohm mesh coil pod and a tighter 1.0 Ohm mesh coil pod. In addition to that, vapers can choose to add the 0.8 Ohm and/or 1.2 Ohm coil pods if they wish to alter the experience depending on the e-liquid they choose. These were previously available with the Vaporesso Luxe Q pod system. Featuring a curved mouthpiece and coils that are shaped similarly to the GTX coils but slightly smaller, the QS pods provide plenty of options to give you maximum flavour how you like it.

Each pod snaps off easily to fill your e-liquid via the top fill method, providing it’s an e-liquid bottle with a pipette. There are battery contacts at the top of each Luxe QS device so the pods slot into place effectively and hold firm.

How Do They Perform With The Kit?

Thanks to the clever technology created by Vaporesso, including their Corex heating technology and the SSS anti-leak technology, you can enjoy maximum vape juice over a sustained period that lasts longer and tastes better than with previous pods. Vaporisation, flavour reproduction and the pod lifespan itself are up 50% on previous models according to Vaporesso.

And one of the best features is the reversible nature of the pods, allowing you to alternate between a restrictive direct lung hit and a looser mouth-to-lung draw effortlessly. On the mouth-to-lung side, it’s quite airy so if you prefer that kind of throat hit then this is the perfect pod kit. It’s not capable of doing a smooth direct lung draw but you can get enough of one with a restrictive nature. Something airy that is similar to the Uwell Caliburn series.

Vaporesso Luxe QS - How It Looks And Practicality

This is an interesting design. You either love it or hate it with the shiny zinc alloy material look. On the front, it’s got the sleek grooved shiny panel that’s available in an array of bold colourful displays, which looks different upon reflection from sunlight. And on the back, it’s got a smooth texture. So it’s not your typical vape pod kit where the front and back match. In terms of practicality, it’s easy to use. The airflow is interchangeable as we said earlier because of the reversible pods, which is handy for new vapers to test their limitations and preferences. The wattage is preset so you don’t need to adjust any settings, and it’s another pod kit that doesn’t have a screen - to create your back-to-basics vape.

One of the smarter aspects of the Luxe QS is Vaporesso adding the type-c port on the back of the device towards the bottom. This means you can stand it up and charge at the same time, but keep it balanced using the cable - genius! Usually, when vape kits are putting the USB slot at the very bottom of the device, you have to lie it down to charge up.

How To Use The Device

As we said before the Luxe QS device is easy to use, like most pod kits they don’t push the boat out with multiple features and menu settings to navigate through. Instead, you charge up the large 1000mAh battery, which should easily last you the day. Take the cap off and fill it with your chosen e-liquid. Then you can inhale MTL or RDL based on preference with the auto-inhale method via the reverse method. It has an LED light that activates when you push the pod in, with the following colours indicating:

  • Red - 0-30% Battery Capacity
  • Blue - 30-70% Battery Capacity
  • Green - 70-100% Battery Capacity

Any Disadvantages?

  • The e-liquid level is not clear, it could do with a vape juice window or at least visible pods
  • Not ideal for those who like to replace the coils themselves

Verdict

For those that want a versatile device that can perform a decent warm RDL and MTL vape with a generous throat hit, the Luxe QS hits the sweet spot. Because of its trendy colourful design, you’ll be holding a vape kit that stands out and provides a simple functioning system that doesn’t require too much maintenance because of the preset coils inside the curved pods. Overall, it’s a fantastic user-friendly kit that will suit all levels and does the necessary basics consistently well.
